WINTERY OUTFIT

Winter

Just a quick fashion post via Polyvore

I thought it was about time I ought to do a fashion post as I rarely do them on my blog nowadays. This is just an outfit incorporating various items that I have been loving and that are appropriate for the dreary weather we're having at the mo! I have also included some beauty bits - how gorge is that Nars lipgloss?! Also, some music I've been loving, I feel as though I've rediscovered and refallen (?) in love with The Weeknd since hearing his contribution to the 50 Shades soundtrack, Earned It - go give it a listen!

POLYVORE LOVING

mono

mono by olivia-kiernan featuring a black shirt

Hey guys! So I've just joined Polyvore and I've really been enjoying using it and creating outfits. It's a really good website for seeing how items work together. Also it notifies you when an item you've liked is in the sale which is always great as you can snap it before it goes out of stock!
I would love it if you could leave your links down below as I'd love to check out some of the looks you have created.

Thank you

Topshop Glow Highlighter in Gleam Review

TOPSHOP GLOW HIGHLIGHTER IN GLEAM - Topshop, £9.00

Highlighters are a defo must have in autumn/winter for me. My skin looks a little worse for wear, dull and in desperate need of a little sun. That is when this little beauty comes in, a shimmery, sheeny bronze cream highlighter which instantly brightens your complexion. At first I thought I wouldn't like this as it could have looked a little orangey on my awfully pale skin, however it doesn't add too much of a bronzey glow, just enough to give your skin that healthy glow which it can sometimes lack during the colder months.

In terms of staying power, this is pretty good. It is very creamy so I was surprised that it lasted pretty much all day, although we have been having some warmer weather so it has been fading a lot quicker but luckily it fades very naturally and doesn't go patchy or weird.

For the price, this is definitely something to have a look at when you're next in Topshop. I've got my eye on the other shade of this (Polish) which is an icy, cooler version!

Do you like the look of this?

review // topshop blush in head over heels

hey guys! so you may have seen in my recent haul that i had bought my first ever topshop make up product! i had a tough time deciding which product i was going to get because i had heard so many good things about pretty much anything, but for me it was between the lipsticks and the cream blushes, and also the 'glow' highlighter which i have been wanted for SO long but I already have benefit's high beam so I thought that I'd buy the topshop highlighter after I've used up all of the benefit one! so in the end i went for the cream blush in head over heels because I don't own many cream blushes and I think they look a bit more natural than the traditional powder blushes, and i also like the dewy look, especially in summer, and i think cream blushes make my skin look really dewy and glowy!

I took the picture and swatch when i first bought it as my other cream blushes have gotten pretty messy, and it's kind of embarrassing haha. i've been using this blush for a couple of weeks now and have been wearing it pretty much everyday! it's a gorgeous coral colour - perfect for spring/summer! It's almost a cream-to-powder finish but more creamy, if that makes sense? i know many people like to use the real techniques stippling brush with cream blushes, but unfortunately i don't have it (is this an excuse to buy it? i think so) so i just dot it on and blend it out with my fingers which gives a gorgeous glow and flush of colour! I dot in quite high up and not too close to the center of my face, so it gives it a bit of shape and structure, otherwise i look a tad like a clown, which I'm sure you all know is not a good look! When I first used this blush I used a bit too much but it blended in so easily which is really helpful when getting used to how much to use! I'm really surprised about how much I like this blush as i've never been a big blush gal but i love this one, and although being a cream product, it lasts pretty well on my combo skin, almost all day!

Overall, i love this blush and will definitely buying some more of Topshop's make up when I'm next there, anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed!

haul: topshop, primark, boots etc

Hello my lovelies!

So last weekend i went shopping..oops. But, in my defence i did manage to restrain myself from everything i laid eyes on when i was in town, and many were repurchases. Here's what i bought..

top photo L-R clockwise: Dove hair therapy oil | rimmel stay matte powder | collection lasting perfection concealer | models own nail polish in utopia | top shop blush in head over heels | stargazer white foundation
bottom photo L-R: khaki crop top & grey tshirt both primark

The dove hair therapy oil is something that i have been meaning to get for a while! i've seen it being featured and raved about on some blogs and my friend, who has beautiful hair, uses it too! It has such a gorgeous scent, that after i've put it in my hair i can't stop smelling it haha, and i love it when the wind blow and you get a little whiff of it. You can put it on either wet or dry hair which i love because it doesn't make my hair greasy or weighed down, but it makes it feel very nourished! Also, it's on offer at boots for £1.79 at the moment so it would be rude not to get it!

rimmel stay matte powder is pretty much the most raved about powder on the web. With it's low price tag and high quality, it's definitely worth the hype. They have changed the packaging slightly, making the lid go on tighter and more secure, which is a massive bonus! They have also embossed the rimmel crown logo on to the powder. I can't see myself buying another powder anytime soon as i love this so much, and will continue to repurchase until they discontinue it, which will hopefully be never! it's available from boots and superdrug for £3.99.

collection lasting perfection concealer is another well known and raved about beauty product in the blogosphere, which also has an incredibly low price tag. It has amazing coverage, and for me, almost the exact match. I find that as they get older, and start to run out they begin to go a bit orangey on me (or maybe im getting paler?!) so i repurchased a new one! i also find they get grubby so quickly too! this concealer is available from boots & superdrug for £4.19

models own nail polish in utopia is something that i saw on llymlrs' blog and fell in love instantly! The boots close to me didn't have a models own counter so when i went to my town's shopping center (manchester arndale) i was so excited to finally get this! it's a lovely grey-lilac-nude-pink-off white kind of shade! I have a notd coming your way soon!

topshop blush in head over heels I FINALLY OWN SOME TOPSHOP MAKE UP. although it's only a blush.. it still counts. I didn't want to buy loads of things from there just because i already have enough! after doing my favourite spring blushes rachael from beautypea.com said she was loving the topshop blush in head over heels so i thought i'd have a little swatch the next time i went to topshop and OH MY i love it. It is literally the colour of summer. Stupidly i took the picture above without the colour of the blush showing, so i will definitely do a blog post reviewing this blush!

stargazer white foundation is something i ordered online from blue banana because during the #bbloggers chat on twitter, a lot of people said they liked this to mix with darker foundations, and seeing as i'm very pale and many drugstore foundations are too dark for me i thought this was perfect.. however i think this is my least favourite purchase as it just doesn't work for me! despite making my foundation the right shade, it makes it very drying, and also makes it cling to dry patches sadly.. ahh well!

primark khaki crop top & grey tshirt were the only fashion purchases i made. i had my heart set on getting a black midi skirt but in primark they only had them in every size but my size and then in topshop and other places i just thought the price was a bit ridiculous so i am hoping to go back to primark and hope that they have my size! anyway, i got the crop top in a size 12 as i fell in love with it, especially the rolled back sleeves and again there were no size 8s and it was only £3! I also got a grey tshirt with the same style sleeves but full length! this is lovely for lounging about in and tucking into jeans/shorts/skirts, and it was a bargain for only £3.50!

So that is all for my haul! what have you bought recently?

Thanks for reading!

haul: boots, superdrug, topshop & h&m

hello my lovelies!

so today i thought id do a haul seeing as i have bought a few things recently and thought id show you!

topshop joni jeans £36- topshop
rimmel scandal eyes eyeliner £3.99 - boots
mua palette in undressed £4 - superdrug
leather belt £7.99 - h&m

if you follow me on twitter you will probably know that ive been wanting this for a while! A few people recommended this and even compared it to the naked palette by urban decay (which ive never tried, so wont be able to compare) but so far i am pleasantly surprised by how pigmented and non-chalky these shadows are! and for only £4 you can't go wrong! i won't say too much as there shall be a review coming soon!

the rimmel scandal eyes eyeliner in nude is something i picked up on a whim really, but so glad i did. recently, the eczema on my face has been playing up a bit and my eyes have been looking a bit red and tired (even my bus driver said i looked tired one day, thanks! he usually winks at me when i get on which is a tad weird but hey-ho!) anyway, i picked this up in hope that it would brighten my eyes up a bit - which is exactly what it does! love love love! may do more in detail review on this if you would like that? let me know in the comments!

this leather belt is something that was in my wishlist a few posts ago! i really like this belt - it is 100% leather, and it was only 7.99 - BARG! the only downside is that there aren't many holes so i will have to puncher them myself! but that isn't really a problem! I am really loving h&m at the mo and wish i'd picked up some more things! there was a gorgeous cropped mint green greyish jumper that i loved but i managed to restrain myself! i also saw some gorgeous velvet leggings! ahh! well done h&m!

Another thing that was on my wishlist was the topshop joni jeans which i have wanted for quite a while! i tried to take a picture of them laid out on my bed but my camera just wasn't giving them any justice! i got them in black, and they are such nice quality! ahh! i will have to do an outfit post so you get the full jist of them, but most people already know what they look like! they are similar to the American Apparel easy jeans but without the ever-so-hefty price tag! They fit so nicely and aren't baggy around the waist or knees which i often get with some other jeans! they are also so versatile and you can pretty much wear them with anything!

So, that is the end of my haul! hope you enjoyed reading and would love to hear about your recent purchases!

Mini Haul: Boots, Topshop & Primark!

Shopping for friends is one of my favourite things, I just love looking at their faces when they open a present they've been looking forward to, so Christmas and birthdays are my forte. Within my friendship group, we tend not to buy each other Christmas presents because there is a large number of us (10!) but we do buy each other birthday presents!
Now this present is work-in-progress as I'm going to be collecting bits and bobs up until the 23rd Nov when it is my friends birthday! Courtney, I hope you're not reading this!;)
Jumper, Primark Mens (£10.00 - bargain!) Throw/Blanket, Primark (£5.00) Earrings, Topshop (£7.50) found here. Maybelline Master Shape Brow Pencil in Dark Blonde, Boots (£2.99) found here
Now not all of this is for her, the jumper and eyebrow pencil are mine. So let's start with that.
I bought this at the start of the October half term and for most the holiday I was wearing it! It's so comfy and it was such a bargain! It's so easy to style, it can be worn just with leggings as it covers your bum, or jeans, or even tucked into some shorts! It also has some really nice detailing - elbow patches, high neck!
Sorry for the slightly blurry/out of focus photo!
Looking around Primark, I am not too wowed by some of the womens jumpers, but I have been loving some of the mens and will hopefully be going back for some more! All I can say is well done Primark!
Next, the eyebrow penceil! Lots of people on youtube and blogger have been raving about this so I just had to try it out! I got mine in 'dark blonde'
It has a very creamy texture and goes on my eyebrows a dream! However I won't talk too much about it as a full review will be coming soon!
Oooh present time! Now, with me being 15 years old, you may be thinking, "Why on earth has she got her friend a throw/blanket?" Well, I am not entirely sure why she wanted one either, but that's what she asked for and I suppose it's better to get her something she actually wants, rather than something she doesn't!
I got this throw at a great price of £5.00! And it feels like it is actually really good quality! It is real soft, and a great size too!
Next thing is the earrings! Or as Topshop calls them 'ear tunnels'. I think they are for cartilage piercings, which is what she has, so hopefully she will be pleased with this!
I bought these for £7.50 but Topshop is having a really good sale on at the moment so you can get them for just £2.50!!! They are really pretty and look sooo nice! I wish I had got some for myself!
My favourite is the triangle one!
Thank you for reading, and I'd love to hear about what you have all been buying.
